How to Prep for Your Senior Rep Photoshoot

Boise Idaho Senior Rep Program

For the Busy Boise Senior Who’s Doing It All

Let’s be real—senior year is a lot. Between school, sports, work, activities, and trying to squeeze in a social life, it can feel like your to-do list never ends. So if you’re part of The Collective, first of all—YAY, I’m so glad you’re here. Second, I know adding a photoshoot to your schedule might feel overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be.

Here’s everything you need to know to feel confident, prepped, and totally yourself heading into your session—even if your calendar is already packed.

Make Time for It (Because You Deserve This Moment)

Photoshoots aren’t just about getting good photos—they’re about taking time to celebrate where you are right now. So treat your session like you would a big game or performance: block it off early, prep ahead, and give yourself space to actually enjoy it.

A few easy ways to prep without stressing:

  • Try on your outfits a week or two before so there are zero surprises

  • Book any hair/nail appointments in advance if you want to (not a must!)

  • Pack a bag the night before with your outfits, shoes, and little things like lip gloss or hair ties

Schedule Smart Around Boise Life

If you’ve lived in Idaho for a minute, you know the weather can be moody. That’s why I always help you choose the best timing for your session—especially around your school events, sports schedules, or dance practice.

We’ll work together to:

  • Avoid big conflict days (like Homecoming week or finals)

  • Plan around golden hour so we can shoot after school/sports

  • Pivot if the weather pulls a fast one on us

Take Care of Yourself (Even Just a Little)

Here’s the truth: You don’t need to show up feeling 100% put-together. You just need to show up as you. But if you want to feel a little extra confident, a tiny bit of prep goes a long way.

The day before:

  • Drink some water (your skin will thank you)

  • Get some sleep if you can

  • Eat a snack before your shoot so you’re not hangry (been there)

  • Play your favorite playlist in the car to get in the mood

You do not need to know how to pose. That’s my job. You just bring your vibe—I’ll take care of the rest.

Stay Organized for Future Shoots

If you’re part of The Collective, you’ll be doing a few different shoots throughout the year—group sessions, themed minis, your big senior shoot, and maybe even a styled brand collab or two.

Best advice? Keep a little “shoot bag” ready with your fave accessories, go-to lip color, neutral shoes, and things that make you feel like you. Trust me, future you will be so glad.

And if you ever feel overwhelmed, confused about outfits, or just need a second opinion—text me. Seriously. I’m here to help, not just take photos.

You’re Busy—But This Is Worth Slowing Down For

You’ve got so much going on this year. That’s why these photos matter. They freeze this season so you can actually remember it—not just rush through it.

You don’t have to be “ready.” You just have to show up. I’ll take care of the rest.

Let’s make something magical.
